Fried Fish Broth
Ingredients
- 1 to 2 smaller white-fleshed fish such as tilapia, the fresher the better 
- 1 Large piece of ginger, sliced 
- 2-4 lotus root 
- Salt 
Variations
- Bok Choy and Green Onion 
- Winter Melon 
- Sweet Potato and Tomato 
Directions
- Fry the fish fully at 350ĀŗF 
- Drain the fish of excess oil or pat dry 
- Add fish and ginger to a pot of boiling water adding just enough water to cover the fish 
- Allow the water to come back to a full rolling boil and cook for at least 30 minutes or when the broth has reached the desired consistency 
- Strain out all the solids from the broth, wash the pot and add the broth back to the pot 
- Add your vegetables and cook to desired doneness in the broth and serve
